UCSB Arts and Lectures presents an evening with photographer Joel Meyerwitz.
Award-winning photographer Joel Meyerowitz recently-released book Aftermath, a commemoration of the fifth anniversary of 9/11, is an extraordinary archive of Ground Zero after the attacks on the World Trade Center. Four hundred color images of physical ruin and emotional strength interspersed with reminiscences of those working at the site place on record the moments of courage, compassion, and solidarity that occurred there. Meyerowitz will give a visual presentation of his poignant photographs and discuss the bravery and tireless efforts of the thousands of volunteers and public servants who assisted in the clean-up.
Books will be available for purchase and signing.
