Event Description

The Arts Council of the Conejo Valley, "The Voice of the Arts", presents Sculpture on the Hill II.

The Artists' Reception is Saturday, October 10th, 4-6 pm and is open to the public, free of charge.

The show's co-curators are Janet Amiri and Connie Tunick, both of Thousand Oaks. Sculpture has been an important part of culture since ancient times. This show of three-dimensional works of art includes pieces crafted of diverse materials. Sculptures of cast bronze, carved wood, ironworks and welded steel, fused glass, stone, and assemblage, all will be included in Sculpture on the Hill II. Artists in this show have a wide range of interpretation both in their use of materials and creative insight. Styles range from classic realism to contemporary abstraction. Some of the artists create sculptures from found objects such as recycled materials.

Thousand Oaks sculptors include Bob Privitt, Janice Mc Ginnis, Donna Mason, Dawn Feeney, Gary Raymond, and Janet Amiri. Newbury Park artists are Theodora Ilowitz and Shannon Lundberg. From Westlake Village are sculptors De Lesprie, Alistair Stevenson, Kathrin Raab-Questenberg, and John Storojev. Also included are sculptors Richard Scarborough of Malibu, Fran Elson of Somis, and Tesi Sanchez Halpert of Moorpark.

The show can be viewed daily from 9 am until 5 pm.
