Event Description
The First United Methodist Church offers an after school computer drop in center. Free tutoring for any student grades 7-12. Computers and light recreation. Spanish available.
The Student Drop-In Center opened its doors on October 15, 1986 to provide an after-school program at no cost to meet academic and social needs of students. Volunteers are recruited from church, the community, and UCSB. Tutoring, counseling, recreation, and a healthy snack are provided in an attractive setting that includes a quiet study room, computers, and a gymnasium. Endorsed by school administrators, counselors, teachers, parents, and the PTA, the project has received a positive response from the community.
The Center will be open:
Mondays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
